§ CU has not been able to do much of anything in the first quarter, having been outscored 40-6. Not a single touchdown?! Each positive they have achieved early has been quickly snuffed by a mistake (i.e. weird pop-up kickoff recovery to a blocked field goal for a Stanford TD). What does the first quarter have in store for us today?
§ It doesn’t look like there have been any new injuries or suspensions.
However, Tony Poremba’s concussion, slightly less reported on than P-Rich’s knee that happened one day later, may be serious enough to keep him out the rest of the year.
§ WR Kyle Cefalo is now expected to play, as is DB Arthur Jaffee. CB Brian Lockridge and S Wil Harlos will not. C Shawn Daniels is almost ready and could possibly see action; C Daniel Munyer is still not quite ready. Paul Richardson is still out but rehabbing well and will travel to Washington in more of a coaching capacity for the receivers.
§ TFr. Malcolm Creer earned some travel time by his play in practice, although he is not expected to play. He is still slated to redshirt, and will only be there for the experience, and super emergency as Embree said, “EB would go in before him.”
§ Visiting teams have won 5 of 8 in this series and maybe the Buffs can give their head coach a surprise 46 th birthday present today.
§ Greg Brown reigned in the dogs on defense against Stanford, rarely sending more than 4 or 5 after Luck, leaving 6-8 to drop back in coverage. It didn’t matter as he had time to pick them apart and put up almost 400 yards. CU had its first game without a sack. The two safeties accounted for 27 tackles and that is just way too many. This all needs to change against Washington-get some pressure on QB Keith Price and make some plays; don’t let him sit back there and make them.
§ The name “Ryan” must have been very popular 20 or so years ago: when TE Deehan line up next to RT Dannewitz, there are 3 “Ryans” on the right side of the line. I can’t believe college football guru Phil Steele has named the inside Ryan (Miller) as a mid-season All-American?! He has made some terrible penalties-some key holdings and an awful personal foul that all negated big gains. He also has been guilty of just being plain beat, left standing dumbfounded (almost Hawk-like) watching his man chase down Speedy or Tyler.
§ It may be hard for Stewart to catch EB for all-time Buffalo rushing record, but he should surpass EB’s “all-purpose” record since Speedy has been able to catch many more balls out of the backfield and has returned a lot more punts and kickoffs than his coach ever did.

§ It doesn’t look like Buffnik posted his uncensored preview on AllBuffs.com?!
